Collaboration (by James Leland Ludeau III from Lafayette,LA)
Sometimes when the wind and waves become rough
My boat capsizes
having not yet perfected the art of smooth sailing
I drift
struggling to right my craft and regain control
In times such as these I rejoice in the perfect rediscovery
of your rock island whose solid caves beckon
and whereupon i may rest, mend my craft, and plot my course anew
Before i again set sail
I may fight in my life not to need much
But I don't find the need to fight you
My boat capsizes
having not yet perfected the art of smooth sailing
I drift
struggling to right my craft and regain control
In times such as these I rejoice in the perfect rediscovery
of your rock island whose solid caves beckon
and whereupon i may rest, mend my craft, and plot my course anew
Before i again set sail
I may fight in my life not to need much
But I don't find the need to fight you
